| Home description |
Beautiful and characteristic apartment, on the first floor of a 17th century historical building, in a typical Renaissance Florentine street, that of “Sant Antonino”, imbedded in the S. Lorenzo Local Market area, hearth of Florence’s historical centre.
All furnished and completely restored, it looks like the typical old Florentine “house”, in a traditional style as for its walls and floor (the red bricks, better known as “cotto fiorentino”), the apartment is composed of the entrance/living room with a large sofa bed (where is also a well furnished bookcase), two bedrooms with double beds, one of them having a large American wardrobe, besides a real comfortable all equipped kitchen and one bathroom with shower. It does exist also an interior terrace where it is possible to dry clothes and to enjoy fresh air, during the hot hours of the Florentine summer.
The typical Florentine ancient style kitchen is fully equipped to cook and to enjoy meals, besides being a comfortable environment thanks to its facilities (washing-machine, TV, dishwasher, oven and refrigerator).
Its wonderful position allows guests to reach all the Florence major cultural sites - Dome Cathedral, Baptistery, “Giotto” Tower, “Signoria” Palace, “Ponte Vecchio”, “Pitti” Palace and the renowned churches of “Santa Croce”, “San Lorenzo”, “Santa Maria Novella” and, not last, “Orsanmichele” with “La Badia Fiorentina”, where is a splendid painting of Filippino Lippi, celebrating the “Madonna”.
As for practicalities: near the flat is a convenient supermarket, bakeries and trattorias/pizzerias with nice food at convenient prices, a post office and banks, besides charming shopping streets, a pharmacy and a tourist office.

| The Tuscany region |
|
There are a lot of reasons to come to visit Florence, as fine art, Renaissance culture, its cradle of Beauty, its astonishing palaces/buildings, etc...but at same time could be a wonderful opportunity to know its real vivid countryside exploring it (the "gentle hills" of Keats). A lot of people decide as well to come in the Tuscany Region to enjoy the amazing and high quality food and fabulous "Chianti" wine. There are also many opportunities for every age students that usually come to learn the coloured Italian language and its stunning culture, often cradle of all current knowledge, as for science, politics, arts crafts, painting, sculpture, architecture, world's visions.
There are really a lot of occasions offered from Tuscany Region, as starting from Florence and continuing with the city of Siena, with her marvellous “Piazza del Campo” square and the Dome , and Pisa with “Miracoli” square, containing the well known Tower, Baptistery and the Cathedral, to complete with the others many cities and villages attractions.
Others really charming opportunity are Tuscany gardens in the cities art, as “Boboli garden” for Florence, but as well countryside gardens as “Spoerry garden” near Seggiano village (“Amiata” mountain) in Siena jurisdiction and “Villa Celle park” near Pistoia, where are collected wonderful pieces of contemporary environmental art in situ, as real environmental open-air museums well known over the world!
To resume…the only thing you have to do is to come and start with those amazing variety opportunities!

| Florence area |
The flat is located in S. Lorenzo District, the heart of Florence historical centre in all the main important historic periods. Today the realities of the area are, “S. Lorenzo” church with the “Biblioteca Laurenziana” made by Michelangelo and “Cappelle Medicee” magnificent a part, the leather and food market (both 100 metres down the flat, generally closed on Monday for the leather and on Saturday afternoon and Sunday for the food one) in which you can find all the typical hand made genuine food, as fresh pasta, or regional and national characteristic cheese and salami, but as well the really good meet of Florentine steak and really fresh and organic local fruits and vegetables.
For the clothes and leather market you can find really good hand made quality of clothes, jacket and gloves ( generally there are really good discount during summer period where you can buy a jacket for 50 euros!) and all Florentine characteristic handmade products as ceramics, fabrics and bags!
More you can enjoy the different opportunity of food offered around the apartment by historic and well known over the world bars ( I suggest for cake and pastries the “Sieni” bar just around the corner down the flat, try the “budino di riso” or “schiacciata alla fiorentina” typical sweet !) and restaurants as “Palle d’Oro “ (down the flat) or “Zazzà” just 200mts outside the flat (where I suggest to ask for the “ribollita” or “bistecca alla fiorentina” or the ” tagliatelle” with Porcini mushrooms) or if you want you can have also a break of exotic Brazilian time in Italy at the “Maracanà” just over the corner, where you can enjoy more than food, the exuberant typical Brazilian atmosphere of the samba show!
The area is normally really vivid and coloured one, especially during spring and summer period where are typical festival as S. Giovanni on 24 of June and S. Lorenzo night on the 13 of August, where you can enjoy with local people and the quarter residents typical food on the street!
