Home description

The apartment is a large studio with the addition of a spacious upper floor – over 45 sq metres in total. Modern and well furnished with a good view. On the top floor of a modern 3 storey building. Set well back from the road in wooded grounds.

The balcony gives good views past the forested hills to distant mountain tops.

2 minutes from the main village centre: cafes, restaurants, summer luge, nursery slopes, ski lift, ski school, children's snow park etc.

In spring, summer and autumn the surrounding hills, forests, meadows and mountains are a delight. There’s lots to do: walk, bike, play golf, visit the many ancient medieval villages in the region and also the beaches of the Cote d'Azur.

In winter - 90 kms of first class skiing in a relaxed family-friendly resort.

Only 1 hour from Nice Airport and low-cost flights from most European airports.

There is secure underground parking, cycle store and ski box.

The Alpes region

The village of Valberg is high in the Southern French Alps – just 80 km from the Mediterranean. In the winter and summer season the village becomes very cosmopolitan as holidaymakers from all around Europe visit to enjoy the superb facilities and, usually, perfect weather.

The village has good facilities: a school, post office, bank, supermarket, doctor etc as well as an excellent Tourist Office with helpful staff who speak good English.

The ambiance of the village is clearly French – but visitors from around the world are warmly welcomed everywhere.

Most visitors come to actively enjoy the winter and summer sports, the mountain scenery and fresh air.

From mid-December the main activity is downhill skiing and snowboarding.
A variety of other winter sports suitable for all ages and abilities are available - all with a family friendly ambience.

In the spring, summer and early autumn Valberg is the perfect place for walking, mountain biking, golf, horse riding and – for the very fit – cycling! Children and teenagers will thoroughly enjoy the ‘Summer Luge’ and the ‘Espace Valberg Adventure’ - a challenging overhead route through the forested hillside.

A few weeks before, throughout, and immediately following the long French school vacation many other sporting and creative activities are available - including the modern open air swimming pool.

Valberg has a good variety of shops, cafes and restaurants.

By Air
• Most low cost airlines have several direct daily services to Nice Airport
• Car Hire at reasonable cost is available from the airport. We can advise on the best deals.
• Also a bus service runs daily from the airport to Valberg. • A bus (Route 770) runs Winter and Summer from and to Nice Airport, Nice Rail Station and Nice Centre.
• The daily timetable is variable depending on the season, day of the week etc. Only 1 euro for the round trip! However please check the latest timetable before booking your flights (we can provide the website address).

By Road
• We regularly drive to Valberg from Calais.
• We use an attractive route - taking about 2.5 days but it takes 2 days using the motorways.
• If approaching Valberg from Nice city centre, head West towards the Airport. Then follow the signs for Digne/Grenoble. Shortly after Touët-sur-Var, turn right on the D28 signposted Beuil and Valberg - via Gorges du Cians

Please note that some of the facilities in Valberg are 'seasonal' around the French school holiday periods.

Access to the upper floor bedroom is via an open-spiral staircase – not very suited to toddlers! The beamed ceiling of this upper floor varies in height - great for kids but at 1.86 m maximum to 1.16 m minimum adults need to take care!
