This part of the Costa del Sol is known as the “Costa del Golf” - the apartment overlooks Golf Valley and is adjacent to 6 golf courses (Los Naranjos, Las Brisas, Aloha, La Quinta, Flamingos Golf Club and La Dama de Noche). Top courses such as Sotogrande and Valderrama are approximately 20 minutes by car. The area also offers a vast range of international restaurants, bars and night-clubs while there is a casino nearby. The bull ring (2 minutes walk) hosts a market every Saturday. Beaches stretch east and west on either side of the marina at Puerto Banús.

Puerto José Banús, more commonly known as Puerto Banús is a marina to the west of Marbella, Spain on the Costa del Sol. It was built in 1970 by José Banús, a local property developer, as a luxury marina and shopping complex for the jet-set and the super rich. 3 kilometres inland is the Aloha Golf Club. The lavish opening of the complex in May 1970 was attended by, amongst others, the Aga Khan, film director Roman Polanski, Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, Dr. Christian Barnard (pioneer of the heart transplant), and Prince Rainier and Princess Grace of Monaco. A youthful Julio Iglesias was contracted to sing for the guests for the enormous sum of 125,000 pesetas. An army of 300 waiters from Seville served 50 pounds of beluga caviar to the 1,700 guests. The focal point of Puerto Banus is the marina. It has berths for 915 boats, including those of the King of Saudi Arabia and several of the world's wealthiest individuals. Behind the harbour lie streets filled with bars, boutiques and nightclubs. |

With an average of 320 days of sunshine per year, golfers rarely have to worry about a game being spoilt by the weather; a round can be arranged without aggravation, at short notice, and enjoyed to its full potential. There is a street market at the Bullring every Saturday. Those who enjoy beach life can surely find a comfortable spot in the kilometre of soft golden sand washed by clear warm waters. Water sports enthusiasts have a variety of activities from which to choose. Shopaholics, wandering the streets to their heart’s content, can find all they need in Puerto Banus and neighbouring Marbella. At the end of every day the all night party begins. |
