Home description

The villa has a lounge, kitchen, spacious bathroom and large master bedroom with ample wardrobe space. Below are details of the facilities provided in the villa.

Situated on El Parque del Rey, Villa Mateo is a 10 minute walk to the harbour and just a further 5 minutes to the main shopping street with three supermarkets.

A complimentary welcome pack is provided of tea/coffee, mineral water and a bottle of wine.

Close by is the beautiful Playa Flamingo beach with Playa Dorada a short ride away.

Enjoy shopping and a meal at the fabulous new Marina Rubicon. Try snorkelling and sheltered swimming in the natural harbours of the Papagayo National Reserve.

While car hire is not essential we would recommend that you consider hiring a car to take advantage of all the Island has to offer.

For those who do not know this beautiful island, we are situated at the far right of the Canarian archipelago, the closest island to the African continent at the same longitude as the southern tip of Morocco.

The cultural centres of Lanzarote are those created or inspired by César Manrique. They are well worth a visit.
Jameos del Agua, Cuevas de Los Verdes, Mirador del Rio, Casa del Campesino, La Fundación César Manrique, Castillo de San José, Jardin de Cactus,Timanfaya National Park.

This location means that we enjoy a temperate sunny climate all year round. Lanzarote has the most consistent climate of all the Canary Islands, with stable temperatures throughout the year, averaging 17ºC (63º F) in January/February and 24º C (75º F) in summer time.

Playa Blanca, at the southern-most tip of Lanzarote, is fast becoming one of the island's finest tourist areas. Originally a small fishing village it has been transformed into a first class holiday resort.

El Parque Del Rey is a quite area built closer to all the amenities of Playa Blanca than the more distant Faro Park or Montaña Roja.

Playa Blanca can boast the warmest weather on Lanzarote as it is almost always basked in warm sunshine, it can also lay claim to some of the finest beaches, where the deep turquoise sea is crystal clear and always calm. There are superb views of the mountains and the islands of Lobos and Fuerteventura across the water. Most recent has been the development of Marina Rubicon, which is the largest private marina on the island and is effectively a small village of interconnecting cobbled streets lined with high class shops, cafes, and restaurants.

Playa Blanca's sea front promenade connects the beaches and is lined with shops, restaurants and bars. From the harbour at the far end of the promenade, you can catch a ferry to Fuerteventura. You can go as a foot passenger or with a car and the 15-minute crossing on the modern Fred Olsen FastCat is great fun as you can sit at the viewing deck at the front or on the open-air terrace and enjoy the ocean.

The resort is great for families, there is plenty of nightlife and entertainment with many of the bars offering live music. The choice of restaurants is a gastronomic delight, varying from local Canarian tapas to international cuisine.

A great advantage to staying in Playa Blanca is the proximity to the beaches of Papagayo. These beaches must be the most beautiful beaches on the island (and some people say in all of Spain). A visit to Papagayo is a must if you are staying in Playa Blanca, however, do take a picnic as there are no shops or facilities here, and you will need a car.
