Located 'juste a cote' to the village of Sorges, famous in the Perigord region for truffles, this pretty cottage is part of a two gite complex with pool, situated in the grounds of a 18th century manor house.
The large iron gates lead to the courtyard, with its two enormous horse chestnut trees, and space to park 4 cars.

The perfect relaxing break for couples - La Petite Noix, has a private garden, with south-west facing terrace, equipped with teak furniture, BBQ and a view of the pool (the pool is shared - owners and La Petite Truffe -and is alarmed, so no need for you to be!). The gardens feature natural delights such as walnut and hazelnut trees, vines, as well as fig, apple and pear trees. Free for you to help yourselves when in season!
Recently refurbished, La Petite Noix, is an independant gite, with top quality furnishings and a wood burning stove.

The accommodation consists of an open plan lounge, with wood burning stove and dining area, with fully equipped kitchen. The main bedroom is delightfully furnished with a wrought iron double bed, top quality linen and soft furnishings.

The shower room for these room is located off the kitchen and stocked with towels.

Sorges is the capital of the truffle and famous all over France. The village is 10 minutes walk from the gite, and offers a boulangerie (all important croissant & pain), charcuterie (butcher for your BBQ), tabac (newspaper shop), La Poste, hairdresser, mini-market (lobster in freezer!), church, outdoor heated pool (3mins by car), tennis court, and a museum to the all important truffle! The Auberge de Truffe, in Sorges village, a national treasure, is renowned for menus including truffles. Or simply order a pizza take away after a rough day of holidaying.

Sorges hosts many events during the year from truffle markets and fairs in January, to a national dog show in September.

Trelissac, 20mins by car offers a large selection of supermarkets, hypermarkets, and other commecial centres.

Perigueux is the next city, only 25mins by car, is located on the banks of the river Isle, and has a hospital, university, a famous Roman/Byzantine Cathedral, wonderful medieval old city with a selection of coffee houses for your stroll, as well as a genuine Anglo/Irish pub if you miss the beer. Visit the markets on a Saturday morning for a vibrant french atmosphere, and have a coffee watching the Perigordianes going about their business.
The city offers many parks including Parc des Arenes (built out of the ruins of a genuine Roman arena). An old world train is available on the hour aat a nominal charge to view the main sites. Walking tours are also arranged throughout the day via tourist office at Place Francheville. Perigueux has many cultural evening events throughout the summer including street Jazz events in July.

* A Perigourdian platter is also available to book for your arrival. It consists of a selection of cheese, pates, cold meats, butter, gherkins, along with some local breads - 7.50 Euros per person
* A wine mini-bar is available for you to chose from. Prices are listed in your welcome pack and charged on departure based on consumption.
* A COMPLIMENTARY Welcome Pack consisting of tea, coffee, milk, sugar, toilet paper, kitchen roll, washing detergent, shower gel, and that all important 'pain' and bottle of wine!
* Childrenï's equipment is available (FREE of charge), incl. high chair, cot, cot linen, buggy, playpen/travelcot, toys, books, potty, toilet seat and sink steps
* A Babies Basket can be prepared at an additional cost, incl. nappies, wipes, bottles, sterislizer, baby phone, 7 days worth of fruit purees and home made meals (in freezer on arrival) - provided once requested two weeks prior to arrival
* A Toddlers Welcome Pack can be prepared at an additional cost, incl. English delicacies such as fresh milk, free range eggs, sliced pan (bread- white or wholemeal), baked beans, fish fingers, breakfast cereal multipack, yoghurts (without bits!), chicken nuggets, etc.

A non-refundable deposit of 25% of full price is required at the time of booking with the balance due six weeks prior to the start of the holiday.
If booking is made within 6 weeks, then full payment is required on reservation.
Bookings are normally Saturday (17.00hrs) to Saturday (10.00hrs) except by special arrangement.
A refundable key/security deposit of 200Euros (cash-stg or euros)will also be required 6 weeks prior to arrival, to cover any accidental damage/breakages.
This security deposit will be refunded 10 days after departure once property viewed by owner and subject to no damage to or excess cleaning of the property

* Deposit of 25% required on booking
* Balance to be paid 6 weeks prior to date of arrival
* Bookings within 6 weeks of arrival are to be paid in full on reservation
* Changeover day usually Saturdays, but can be flexible
* Short stays possible in winter and also considered for summer
* Breakages deposit of 200 Euros (cash in stg or euros) required with balance payment 6 weeks prior and can be returned on departure once property viewed by owner after clients departure, and subject to no damage/breakages and/or excess cleaning
* Cleaning is included, although we do ask guests to leave the gite in reasonable condition. Any unreasonable cleaning will be deducted from the breakage deposit
