The Alpes Maritimes/Cote d'Azur has everything one could desire! It has been the playground of the rich and famous for many years, and still is. Its coast is renowned for its sophisticated towns, such as Monaco, Nice,Cannes, St Paul de Vence, Antibes, etc. The mild, micro-climate attracts many visitors especially during the European winter months, and does not have the unbearable tropical climate of further exotic locations. Nice is easily accessable even from the USA which has direct flights. Low cost airlines from the UK.make it a simple journey. Le Contadour is only a 20 min. drive from the airport, and immediately one feels the peace and quiet of village life as compared to the hustle and bustle on the coast itself. The Italian border is only a 50 minute drive away. Many Alpine villages are minutes away by car, with their exotic flora and fauna, where time has stood still. Here in Gattieres, a medieval village, you can spend time simply being! |

Gattieres, being a medieval village is perched 350 m. above the sea. Its winding cobblestone streets and ancient houses hustle together, silently. You will find excellent restaurants in the village, with both international cuisine to fine home cooking. In July, an open-air professional opera takes place in one of the village squares. Locally, many concerts and exhibitions of local talented artists are organised. The whole area is well-known as an artist's paradise, where many famous painters have lived, such as Matisse, Picasso, Renoir, appreciative of the famous light that illuminates the whole of the Cote d'Azure. |

The villa is available all the year round, as we enjoy a micro climate, which protects it from the icy winds, and snow. One is able to dine out for most of the year. |

The villa is suitable for both young and old, and facilities exist for babies or children. It is less suitable for the infirm. Smoking is preferred on the terrace and not in the apartment. |
