Nerja, located about 40 minutes east of Malaga is a pretty, unspoiled corner of real Spain. Originally a fishing town it has mainly retained it’s traditional way of life but still bustles with a vast selection of reastaurants and tapa bars, shops, and markets. It's the perfect spot to relax and take in the Spanish way of life for a week or two; it's ideal for kids, although there's also enough nightlife in the town to let your hair down The focal point, in the centre of town, is the Balcon de Europa, a cliff top promenade jutting out into the Mediterranean to give spectacular views of the sandy beaches & coastal bays below. The beaches aren't too crowded. There's great diving, and a number of golf clubs, and water-parks all within a short drive. The villa is situated about 5 mins drive out of town in a quite location but with a number of bars and restaurants near by.

Nerja is known for THE BEST CLIMATE IN EUROPE, with sub-tropical temperatures similar to southern California. Lapped by the Mediterranean waters of the Costa del Sol and sheltered by the mountains of the Sierra Almijara, which lie to the north of the town. This magnificent coast is formed by cliffs that conseal natural coves and bays of well maintained and differing sandy beaches, shared by fishermen and sunbathers alike that stretch over 9 kilometres along the coast. On Burriana Beach there are internationally famous fish restaurants that, due to the mild climate, are able to remain open all year. Throughout the town there are numerous other restaurants that offer a wide variety of international cuisine. |

Nerja is a traditional fishing town of typical Andalucian white-washed houses adorned with geraniums that has maintained a great charm. The old part of the town, full of interesting shops restaurants and tapas bars, dates from the 14th century and has a labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets in typical Moorish style.One of the most popular spots within the town is the Balcón de Europa, built on the previous site of a 10th century castle, a cliff top promenade jutting out into the Mediterranean to give spectacular views of the sandy beaches & coastal bays below and the impressive mountain range which cloaks the town. |

Cheap flights with Easyjet, and Monarch Air Or fly to Granada with Ryan Air in which case the villa is about 1hour drive. Best Car hire is through Malaga Car hire on www.malagacarhire.com/ There are also local buses that go from the airport to Nerja town |
