This detached half-timbered house built in 1729, previously housing a post office, is in an idyllic location on the edge of the village of Neuwerk im Oberharz.
The owners have converted the house into a holiday residence taking into consideration the origins of the building.
The Hexenkessel’s rooms are spacious and comfortable, and furnished in authentic style.

Not only the house, but also the beautiful surroundings will lure you out to spend some time. You can walk and cycle on signposted paths.
In the winter, there are groomed Nordic tracks and the ski area of Braunlage (26 km) to explore the natural surroundings.
Favourite excursion destinations are the stalactite caves in Elbingerode (about 3 km), the western town of Pullman City in Hasselfelde (approx. 15 km), the Witch Dance locale in Thale (about 20 km), the highest mountain in the Harz, the Brocken, and much more.
Dont miss visits to the larger towns in the vicinity. Quedlinburg (world heritage site), Wernigerode and Blankenberg are interesting examples.
