Beautifully restored farmhouse - six bedrooms - large pool
Cascina 47 is a more than two hundred year old farmhouse. It was recently renovated to a high standard, emphasizing its old walls, vaulted ceilings and other original features, whilst incorporating all modern comforts. The former loft and garages have been turned into living space. The furniture in the house echoes this mix of old and new. Moreover you will find ample space and comfort, a necessity when sharing a house with twelve people.

The farmhouse contains in total six large bedrooms, all with two single or a double bed, and four bathrooms containing spacious showers (one with a large bath) of modern Italian design.
Furthermore there is a loft style living room of some 45 m² with adjacent a large terrace overlooking the vineyards towards the Alps. The entrance hall leads to a large kitchen equipped to a high standard, and a separate study. The house has its own telephone and internet connection, whilst an international satellite provides international radio and television. Outside, you will find a separate laundry and utility room. Swimming pool
The farmhouse and its swimming pool are situated on a hill overlooking vineyards and wooded hills with stunning views towards the Alps and the more rugged scenery of the Alte Langhe. The position of the house and swimming pool allows you to enjoy the sun from early morning to late in the evening. Old fruit and nut trees, as well as a number of covered areas, provide ample shelter from sun and wind. The swimming pool is fifteen metres long and a large garden surrounding it has been fenced in for safety reasons. This area naturally runs over into a wild flower meadow.
A large grass area completes this part of the property that in total comprises some 5000 m².

Walking distance
One can reach our village on foot via a path that runs along the back of the property. San Donato boasts a church, a tabacchi (a small supermarket that also sells fresh bread) and a restaurant cum bar.

San Donato (Mango) is some 15 minutes from the motorway Asti - Alba, which is connected to the A 21, one of the major Italian east west motorways, guaranteeing easy access to the tunnels of the Frejus, Mont Blanc, Grand St. Bernard and Gothard.

The airports of Turin, Milan (incl. Bergamo) and Genoa, are between 110 and 225 km from San Donato. Several low cost airlines fly on a daily basis to these cities. (Easyjet, Ryanair, Virgin, Meridiana)

Climate
In this hilly part of Italy a micro climate prevails not unlike that of the Mediterranean. The many vineyards at more than 500 metres, testify to this. Looking at a weather chart, the forecast for Genoa is more likely to be accurate than that for Turin and Milan.

Landscape
This low mountainous area is very diverse. One can drive along one of the many roads and see gently sloping hills to one side and wild woods on the other. Even in the height of summer you will be able to enjoy the lush countryside that is set ablaze in colour from spring to autumn by wild (fruit) trees and flowers and not to forget the vineyards.

During the summer months the house is for rent on a weekly basis.
In spring and autumn the minimum stay is 3 to 4 nights.
