The local blue flag beaches are a 5 minutes drive.

A visit to the cities of Alicante (wide selection of shops and a beautiful marina - nice location for an evening meal), Cartagena (steeped with naval history) or Murcia (good shops and a stunning central cathedral) is worthwhile. There are a number of themed bars in the area including a number of sports and Irish bars, the most well known is Paddy's Point near the roundabout, call in if you want a lively and entertaining evening. The Plaza at Villamartin (near the golf club) is a lovely setting with a wide range of quality shops and restaurants, it is well worth spending an evening here. We recommend you take the time to explore the sea-side walk, stretching from Playa Flamenca, through La Zenia to Cabo Roig (a well designed path skirts the coast passing sandy beaches, natural coves and caves set into the hillside - there are a number of quality bars and restaurants along the path). Terra Mitica theme park (75 mins drive North) is a lively and action packed day out for all ages.
