The duplex flat (50 m2) is located in an fisherman's house from the XIX th century in a quiet street at heart of Honfleur and was renovated for your comfort. You would be just a few steps away from the famous Vieux Bassin (XVII th century) and l'Eglise Sainte Catherine (XV th century) and every Saturday you can enjoy the lively street market offering all the local specialities since ages.

As dusk approaches, after a decent dinner in one of the best local restaurants you should try to get lost in the narrow streets where each and every house is a quiet witness of History. Last but not least, Honfleur is only 1 hour away from the D-Day landing beaches following the coast line. Mont Saint Michel (which does NOT belong to Bretagne : ) is also easily accessible by car...

Deauville and its famous sea side and fim festival is only a few miles away... The magnifiscent cliffs of Etretat and its golf club overlooking the sea are one hour away and will lead you to cross the great Normandy Bridge...

Caen and Rouen, the two beautiful capital towns of Normandy were designed by William the Conqueror and they are only 45 minutes away using the motorway...

You could also visit Bayeux and its wellknown tapestry... you could visit manors, castles and farms where cider, calvados and various famous cheeses are manufactured, they are simply all around !

The Normandy region

Normandy was founded in 911 following a peace agreement signed between Rollon, chief of the Vikings and Charles III, King of France. Normands (men from the north) participated 4 times to the Crusades and founded the Empire of Sicilia in the course of the Xth century, which was a great example of a successful multicultural society.
William the Conqueror and - four generations later - Richard Lion Heart Dukes of Normandy and Kings of England at the same time deeply influenced the medieval english society and are remembered as being the glorious ancestors of its Royal Family.
Honfleur, which takes its name from scandinavian roots remains the most bautiful illustration of this exciting chapter of History.

Honfleur area

Honfleur offers events all-year round (Russian film festival, American film festival in Deauville, fête de la crevette...). In the summer you could also arrange a private guided tour at night and explore the narrows streets with an oil lamp... During the day, you could visit the surrounding farms and castles or simply drive along the coast road to visit the remembered DDay landing beaches which are less than 1 hour away.
