Home description

Chalet Bouquetin is one of five chalets within the Chalet des Neiges complex. The apartment ( 62m2 ) is on the fourth floor and is equipped with cable TV, DVD, dishwasher, microwave, bedding & towels. It has three bedrooms, sleeping up to eight people very comfortably, & benefits from a lounge diner with wood panelling, wood & tile floors (with under-floor heating ). The lounge leads out to a balcony which enjoys fantastic panoramic views of the mountains & piste below.
Next door is a sister chalet containing a heated indoor swimming pool, sauna & fitness suite, available to guests at no extra cost. There is also a bar & restaurant.

Grenoble is less than one hour drive away, with many cultural & social venues plus plenty of hypermarkets & supermarkets to stock up on essentials for your stay.
The Massif des Grandes Rousses area includes the Ecrins National Park with 680 km of signposted footpaths. The skiing is spectacular with fantastic vistas all round from glaciers & forests, to villages nestling in the valleys below.

Oz is one of the five resorts on Massif des Grandes Rousses. The slopes run down to the entrance of the chalet. The nursery slope with new 'magic carpet' is 100 metres away & the ESF ski school office & a crèche are just 50 metres down hill! Two lifts (12 person bubble) take you up to the centre of the ski area at an altitude of 2000 metres.
The ski area is vast & varied, with 220 kms of runs consisting of 41 greens, 28 blues, 27 reds & 14 blacks (including the longest black descent in the Alps!). Or you can stay within the Oz en Oisans ski area that extends from Vaujany to Alpe d'Huez, the ski area is 65 kms of runs, attractively priced, with 35 slopes for every ability. One of Europe's most powerful artificial snow systems takes care of the lower slopes from 2700 to 1350m. At 3330m the Sarenne glacier takes care of itself!

The main entrance opens into a hallway off which is a bathroom & two twin bedrooms, this leads on to a second bathroom, a double bedroom with separate toilet opposite. Beyond is the excellently equipped kitchen diner & lounge. The kitchen has a dishwasher, oven, hob, extractor fan, microwave, toaster, kettle, filter coffee machine and vacuum cleaner. There is plenty of crockery, cutlery, saucepans and utensils. Tea- towels are not supplied.
In the lounge there is ample comfortable seating (which includes a twin sofa-bed ) there is Satellite TV, DVD player, a CD player. The dining table seats up to ten people comfortably. From the lounge area, doors lead out onto the balcony, so you can enjoy sitting outside in the sun. There is a ski locker on the ground floor for storing skis, boots & sledges. We request that skis and ski boots are not to be taken into the living areas.

We had a fantastic time. The apartment is super, really well equipped and comfortable. Our evening entertainment was mostly in the Yetti bar (with young adults with us where else??).

The small village atmosphere with the big ski area is a winning combination. I will certainly tell our friends about Oz and the apartment, despite being a little concerned about letting the secret out of the bag!
